A mammoth effort was put in by Year 7 and 8 students from Pendle Hill High School over the last few weeks at our Food, Clothing, Shelter program, held at the warehouse of our charity partner Thread Together. Between them the two year groups sorted, folded and boxed enough items to clothe 3,000 people doing it tough with brand new clothes. As well as this, they made and delivered 250 delicious meals to the homeless community at Rough Edges.
Students lived their school motto “Service Through Knowledge” to the full, as they took part in empathy workshops to explore how those they were helping may feel. They also listened to stories from previously homeless patrons from Rough Edges.
This program was generously funded by The Premier’s Grant for Social Cohesion Multicultural NSW.
