Our first Connect4Good block of the year has kicked off! Sarah from the RSPCA NSW led a fantastic toy making demonstration for the kids who then produced a total of 33 dog ropes, 72 cat treats and 30 bunny/guinea pig skewers! Sarah also spoke about the important work of the RSPCA, ensuring our furry friends are healthy, happy and in safe homes.
Some of the kids’ creations were given to Mission Australia Housing’s Common Ground (‘The Camperdown Project’) which provides housing for long term homeless people and people on low incomes in the inner-city of Sydney. AJ and Cel received the creations on behalf of Common Ground, and we were honoured to have resident Cheryl join us and explain how valuable it is for her to be able to live at Common Ground with her two cats. Thank you to the kids and their parents for bringing your enthusiasm, curiosity and empathy to our very special first program of three for Block 1!
We look forward to seeing Block 1 participants again at our next session on Sunday, 8th April!
We have just a handful of places still available for Connect4Good – Block 3. Sessions dates: September 16, October 21, November 18. For details and to book: https://kidsgivingback.org/connect-for-good/
