What a week! We’ve had 7 programs on the go: On Monday NEGS took part in our Food, Clothing, Shelter at Thread Together and backed this up on Tuesday by making and delivering 93 meals to Rough Edges during Cook4Good + Urban Walk.
On Wednesday and Thursday SCEGGS Darlinghurst learnt and made recipes with refugee chefs from Culinary Tales during Cook4Good Melting Pot. They learnt about issues facing asylum seekers and refugees and donated 60 meals to the Asylum Seekers Centre in Newtown. Also on Wednesday, Rustic Pathways prepared, cooked and delivered 178 meals for Jewish House and other shelters in Sydney.
The Urban Challenge brought 36 girls from PLC Armidale (Official)for Scones4Good on Thursday. They hosted a tea party at Edina Nursing Home, where they served afternoon tea and interacted with residents in a wonderful intergenerational activity.
To round off the week, Phil, Olivia and Liv from TOGA generously gave up their time to attend a session from our Keep GROWing program at Merrylands, working with students from #YouthOffTheStreets on their interview technique, conducting mock interviews and provided feedback to the young people.
