Challenging, eye-opening and inspiring – Tara Anglican girls immerse themselves in Schools4Good | Kids Giving Back

“Over these 3 days, I’ve come to realise that the people we are helping are just people with different circumstances to mine”.

These words from a Tara Anglican School for Girls Year 9 student who attended our Schools4Good program. Breaking down the barriers between “us” and “them” is a key part of Kids Giving Back programs, through Education, Action and Reflection.

Those that the students helped through Cook4Good, Clothes4Good and Scones4Good totalled a massive 6,000 people experiencing homelessness, asylum seekers and refugees, and elderly experiencing loneliness.

The 3 days immersed the students in Service Learning and the reflection session really cemented the knowledge that they had made a difference in other people’s lives.

Those that benefited were: the students themselves, Thread Together, Rough Edges, Uniting‘s Edina Facility, SummitCare‘s Waverley Facility, Bondi Waters AdvantAged Care, Life Without Barriers, Will2live #MatthewTalbotHomelessHostel and many other individuals supported by our incredible charity partners.
