This past Sunday, Cook for Good was joined by Chantelle Cameron from Vincentian House which provides housing and support services for families. As Vincentian’s families always get to enjoy the meals we make at Cook for Good, we thought it’d be great to have Chantelle along to meet our families and to tell us all a bit more about Vincentian’s services.
Here’s what Chantelle wrote to us after: “Thank you for inviting me along on Sunday, it really was a special experience. It was also nice to come back to the staff and explain to them about how we receive these donations, what you guys do to get this massive donation out each time!
And once again the donations were quickly eaten up, even though there was so much. The staff were so blown away on the amount that came through on Sunday. If there is anything more I can do I am always more than happy to help.”
KGB foodie corner – here’s what our kids and families made at Our Big Kitchen: Singapore noodles, tom yum soup, fried rice, fish balls, and… a Cook for Good favourite, apple strudel. We also made an additional 150 portions of leek and potato soup for ‘Souptember’, a Soup Kitchen for the homeless to be run by Harris Community Centre, Ultimo, on Sunday, September 15. Thanks to all the kids and families who’ve already put up their hands to help on the day.
