Shomer Achi social justice youth group organised a mammoth cupcake baking and selling event to support their upcoming volunteering trip to Thailand with Kids Giving Back. The kids will spend two weeks teaching English to impoverished children, and working with communities supporting elephants that have been saved from exploitation.
In addition to the hands on work the kids will be doing, a percentage of their trip costs go directly to the educational and elephant programs in which they’ll be working, as well as toward caring for under-privileged communities, building a better infrastructure, saving a threatened sea turtle population, and providing vital medical care to locals who need it most.

The Shomer Achi kids have spent the past two years volunteering with many organisations around Sydney, and their local volunteering will of course continue after they return from Thailand.
