“I feel so good mum, we are doing something important” October 2014

These are the words 12 year old Maddie shared with her mum, Cassie, last week when she and her sisters Tara (9) and Bronte (7) made delicious, nutritious lunches at home and served them to clients at the Asylum Seekers Centre. Also volunteering on the day were Melinda and Rahim and their 7 year old son, Arjun.

Cassie writes: “My girls and I have had a most wonderful experience, serving lunch and engaging with the lunch crowd at the Asylum Seekers Centre today. I just wanted to say a big thank you on all our behalves for this opportunity. My eldest daughter Maddie said as we were serving lunch today: “I feel so good mum, we are doing something important”. That to me, as well as the smiles on the faces of the beautiful people we served, is so impacting. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope that this will be just the start of a long relationship with Kids Giving Back”.
