Each December we look forward to welcoming Newcastle Grammar School Year 9 students, and today they joined us for our Cook4Good:Melting Pot program. Under the expert guidance of refugee chefs Tashi from Tibet and Saida from Kuwait and Lebanon, the students made Sadia’s delicious Fatoush Salad (always a winner) along with Tashi’s Momos (dumplings) bursting with flavour. The students’ hard work resulted in over 60 portions taken to the Asylum Seekers Centre. Saida and Tashi also generously shared some of the challenges of their refugee journey with our students. Thank you to Culinary Tales/ Enactus University of Sydney for enabling us to work with your wonderful chefs.
