Our Sew4Good program brought a wonderful start to 2018, with 20 volunteers aged 6-12 giving up their time to design and make soft toys for refugee children whose families are clients of the House of Welcome. Lyn Harrison, House of Welcome CEO, attended the program to receive the soft toy donations and explain to our volunteers some of the issues facing refugees, as well as thanking them for their generosity.

Once again, a huge thank you to Trixi Symonds from Coloured Buttons: Easy Sewing Projects for Kids for giving up her time to run this workshop for us and to inspire our young participants.

Harrison and Scarlett participated with mum Karen who shared her feedback: “Fantastic idea to make softies for children without a cuddle toy who are new to Australia and seeking asylum. A great opportunity for my kids to help other children. Thank you”

We will offer Sew4Good again later this year, please keep an eye on our website and Facebook for date and details.
