We recently welcomed Year 5 and 6 from Camdenville Public School to our Cook4Good Melting Pot program, tying in with work they have been doing on a recipe book for the past term.

The group generously gave up their time to cook 220 meals that were donated to the Asylum Seekers Centre in Newtown, as well as homeless shelters around Sydney.

Students also heard guest speaker Yarrie Bangura’s powerful story about her life in Sierra Leone and arriving to Australia as a refugee, and they took part in empathy based work shops. The students’ ability to respectfully step into the shoes of others was remarkable, thank you so much for taking part.
