Dear Friends,

Thank you all for making 2013 a massive success. Each and every one of you is the backbone of Kids Giving Back.

To the incredible kids who keep raising their hands to make a difference to others, to the parents who offer encouragement along the way and frequently volunteer alongside, and to the schools and communities who integrate working with other communities as an essential part of our young people’s education – your enthusiasm constantly inspires us to find more volunteering opportunities for you.

We are thrilled to finish the year with some great news – this past week we received our DGR status. This means you can now make fully tax deductible donations to Kids Giving Back to help us run our programs. Please contact us for details.

We’ve worked with amazing kids and organisations to break down barriers between communities, and together we’ve achieved the following:

  • Facilitated over 1080 kids aged 6 -18 in a range of volunteering activities with refugee and asylum seeker, indigenous, elderly and disabilities communities, as well as bush care groups across Sydney
  • 6089 meals made for those in need through our Cook for Good program
  • Brought joy to 100s of elderly with scones, a cup of tea, and happy young smiling faces through kids participating in our Scones for Good program
  • Introduced our In Their Shoes – Empathy through Drama workshops to schools and corporations

A big Thank You to all the organisations we have worked with over the past 18 months –  we look forward to placing more volunteers with you in 2014 and to introducing our young people to the joys of making a difference in your communities.
