No, you will only have access to our volunteering opportunities once you have been approved by us and received the email notifying you of when you have access to our volunteering opportunities.
Once you turn 14 (or reach 13 years and 10 months), you’re welcome to join our Youth Changemakers Program. However, you can only choose volunteering opportunities that take place within the month you turn 14 or later.
Yes, you can claim up to 4.5 hours per month for a minimum period of three months for the bronze level. For example, if you participate in a School Holiday Program that runs for 6 hours, you can only record 4.5 hours for that month in your Online Record Book (which can be logged as a block of 4.5 hours). The difference in hours cannot be transferred to other months.
There is no need for us to sign any documents before you register. We provide your award leader with all the details of the Kids Giving Back assessor.
When we email you advising that you have access to our volunteering opportunities, the assessor’s email and name will be provided too.
Yes, however, you will need to register through an external organisation, which will appoint its own Award Leader to support your Duke of Ed journey.
