21 Oct My experience with Kids Giving Back has been great
In Kids Giving Back you cook meals for the homeless and even look after their furry companions. We cook food such as fruit kebabs, salads, soup, pasta dishes and breakfast boxes. If you want to you can choose to deliver the food to the homeless shelters and chat with them. In 2018 the number of homeless people in Australia was well over 250 000 people, including over 44 000 kids under 10, as young as me.
Kids Giving Back has taught me lots of things throughout my life. It has taught me about doing good deeds without being asked and the importance of reaching out to others in need. People experiencing homelessness are regular people just like us and they appreciate when we write messages of kindness because it makes them feel recognised.
I think it is important for others to volunteer, so they can help others in the community who may be in need. If everyone helps a little bit, we can have a loving community, all working together and supporting one another. I can’t wait for my next Kids Giving Back experience next weekend!”
