Want to keep your child busy during the school holidays with interesting activities that are also fun and meaningful?

Our school holiday programs are the perfect chance to introduce your child to the world of volunteering – and empower them to give back in an age-appropriate way.

Helping Hands for the Homeless – Paddington

For kids aged 8-14 (Years 3-8)

Join us for a meaningful holiday experience with themed cooking days from around the world! Your child will cook meals and assemble essential items for people experiencing homelessness and tough times.

Kids will learn about the causes and impacts of homelessness – and how their community supports those most vulnerable.

Cost:

$100 per child (includes lunch, but please BYO if your child has special dietary requirements)

Place:

Kids Giving Back hub, level 1, 220-232 Oxford St, Paddington NSW 2021

Dates:

18th – 20th Dec 24 and MULTIPLE dates Jan 25

Time:

9:30am – 3:30pm

What to bring:

Nut-free morning and afternoon tea, and a drink

What else you need to know:
  • Your child must wear closed toe, rubber soled shoes for safety (as knives are used to prepare meals).
  • This is a drop-off session (parents do not participate).
  • Each program may be slightly different, as we structure sessions around our charity partners’ needs.

Helping Hands for the Homeless – Parramatta

For kids aged 8-14 (Years 3-8)

Join us for a fun filled day supporting vulnerable communities as we make meals, bake yummy treats and create essential care packs. We look forward to hosting you in Parramatta as we cater to the requests of the Salvation Army community!

Kids are sure to feel proud of what they’ve achieved throughout the day.

Cost:

$90 per child

Place:

Dates:

16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th & 30th Jan 25

Time:

9:30pm – 2:30pm

Cook4Good Little Helpers – Paddington

For kids aged 5-7 years (school age, and their parents)

You and your child will help prepare easy meals for those experiencing homelessness and tough times. All meals will be given to our charity partners, who will then distribute to their clients.

A great introduction to our community Cook4Good program, this session is designed for parents and children to work together.

Cost:

$50 per child (free for adults)

Date:

7th, 9th, 13th & 20th Jan 25

Time:

10:00am – 12:00pm

What else you need to know:
  • An adult must accompany your child – with a maximum of 1 adult per 3 children.

Cook4Good Parents & Kids – Paddington

For kids aged 8yrs+

Help us cook nutritious meals for people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability. While helping others, your family will also hone their culinary skills under the instruction of our chef.
These meals will be donated to our local charity partners who support Sydney’s most vulnerable.

Cost:

$50 per person

Place:

Date:

8th & 13th Jan 25

Time:

2:00pm – 4:00pm

What else you need to know:
  • Participants must wear closed toe, rubber soled shoes for safety (as knives are used to prepare meals).
  • This program is intended for adults and kids to participate together.

Cook4Good Teens – Paddington

For kids aged 12yrs+

Help us cook nutritious meals for people experiencing homelessness. These meals will be donated and served that same evening by our local charity partners who support Sydney’s most vulnerable.

$50 per person
